Flush Casement.
Heritage uPVC Window
(Scroll Down to Explore)
Flat face. No shadow line.
On a traditional casement, the opening sash sits proud of the frame — leaving a raised lip that casts a subtle shadow line down the elevation. A flush sash sits perfectly level with the outer frame, so the whole window reads as one plane. It is the smallest detail, and the one that separates a period window from a replica.
Combined with a deep bottom rail and mechanically jointed corners, the Liniar flush platform is the closest uPVC comes to a timber casement — and it is the only one Historic England will sign off in most conservation areas.
Mechanically jointed corners.
Mass‑market uPVC windows are welded at 45° and ground flat — functional, but you can still see the mitre line. A mechanically jointed sash uses a concealed steel corner cleat, so the woodgrain or painted finish carries through the joint uninterrupted. From two metres away, you would genuinely struggle to tell it from a freshly decorated timber casement.
Available with dummy butt‑hinges, peg stays, and stayed‑open positions — all the hardware details of a period window.
