Smart Systems Visofold 1000 is the most widely specified bifold door in the UK residential market for a simple reason: it delivers genuinely good performance at a price that makes sense for a standard rear extension. PAS 24 security, thermally broken, Secured by Design accredited, and available in any RAL colour — without the premium you pay for Cortizo or Schüco.
If you want a bifold that just works — opens smoothly, seals properly, looks good, holds up over a decade — and you are not chasing minimum sightlines or Passivhaus thermal specs, this is the one we recommend.

Smart Systems is the largest UK‑based aluminium extruder and systems house, headquartered in Yatton, Somerset. The Visofold range is fabricated entirely in British factories and supported by a dense installer network — meaning shorter lead times, local spares, and simpler warranty claims compared to Spanish or German imports.
Available in 100+ RAL colours at no premium, plus wood‑effect foil finishes for heritage schemes. Dual colour (different inside/outside) is a £200 optional upgrade.

Smart Systems Visofold 1000 aluminium bifold. 70–82mm frame depth with 30mm polyamide thermal break and foam insulation. 122mm typical sightlines. Glazed with 24, 28, 34, 36 or 38mm warm‑edge insulated units. Max leaf 1200 × 2500mm. PAS 24 approved roller, Document L compliant, Kitemark certified. BS 6375 weather tested.
2 to 7 leaf configurations. Left, right, or split opening. Traffic door option. Standard weather‑rated threshold or optional flush threshold for level access. Available in any RAL colour as standard — no premium for colour choice, just for dual‑colour (different inside/outside).
