Opening Rooflight.
Electric & Manual

Fresh air. From above.
An opening rooflight does two things a fixed skylight cannot: it dumps hot air out of the top of the room in summer (natural stack ventilation is massively more effective than side windows), and it satisfies Building Regulations Part F for purge ventilation without compromising an uninterrupted ground‑floor elevation.
Electric variants open at the touch of a button or automatically on a rain sensor. Manual chain‑operated versions are cheaper and fine for rooms with easy ladder access. Both provide the same thermal and acoustic performance when closed.
Stack ventilation, for free.
Hot air rises. In a room with only low‑level windows, you cannot get rid of it without fans. An opening rooflight uses natural convection , hot air exits through the top, cool air enters through side windows. Measurably more effective than air conditioning for cooling extensions, and costs nothing to run.
Electric variants can be wired to a thermostat for automatic summer cooling, or integrated with a smart home system (Apple HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home) for scheduled venting.
